Well...we have been having a little too much fun lately (if that is even possible!) and I am a little behind on our journal....so I will back up and fill in the blanks.....On the 2nd day of our 4 day weekend (Sun. Sept. 16th), we went to a school-wide Back-to-School beach party hosted by Los Catalinas (a new beach side development), Lola's (the restaurant there and the owners have kids who attend La Paz) and Pura Vida Ride (the outdoor sports rental and outfitter in the area who also have kids at La Paz). I have to say that it is now our new favorite spot! Tables made of Costa Rican hardwood, swings, hammocks, tight ropes to walk, etc. all under the shade trees over-looking a beautiful, secluded beach with views of Catalina Islands.
The horse back rides started at 9:00am and activities continued all day from free pizza making, to bike parade, volleyball, stand-up paddle race (ok, waaaaaay harder than it looks!), boogie boarding, and general playing on the beach. We had so much fun that we did not leave until 4:30 after the kids got to scoop their own ice-cream inside the walk-in freezer with the owner of Lola's....and by the way, if any of you are wondering if Lola is his wife's name? The answer is no, it is the name of her giant pet pig who used to play in the waves (yes, sadly, she is deceased)!
